Wow! after receiving your invitation to friendship, I clicked on your profile (are you two people?) and hadn't even finished reading before deciding that I must accept your offer and attempt to provide an acceptable answer to your question.
My statement on my profile “I partner with human beings to optimize their lives - personally and professionally” should be updated to read “I partner with human beings to optimize our lives - personally and professionally” - Thanks for bringing me back to that sentence so I can see my initial error!
When you say that you are curious to see what we can do together across the globe, you have peaked my excitement and hope to expand my current scope.
You see, initially, helping human beings optimize personal and professional lives meant helping people, mostly Americans, transition from soul-killing and planet-harming jobs and ways of life to a soul-enlivening and planet-healing perspective in how they conduct their lives day to day, whether it be on the job or with their family, friends or vocational activities.
I've been doing that for a while now and it's been rewarding but it has felt like just small drops in an ocean of necessity. (Getting individuals out of their mindless behaviors and having them make more conscious choices in how they spend their time, energy and money).
With your invitation, I am opening up to the grand hopes and dreams I have had since putting up my Gaia profile, about two years ago. I have been lurking around for quite some time, making friends, writing blogs, participating in group discussions and so forth, trying to figure out how to manifest a larger change. I think part of this happens non-materially, just by connecting with people from different parts of the world who share dreams and hopes and a commitment to make the world a better place, I believe that we are changing the resonance of the planet.
The second part, the actual shift in behaviors, attitudes and actions, by the larger world community is something that I continue to hold as a fantastical dream but one that I firmly believe is possible to affect and assist.
My dream is to figure out a way to use the positive ENERGY generated by a community such as this, to shift the negative energy housed and perpetuated by people who do not choose to come to a community like this and to share this positive energy with people who do not have access to a community such as this. My belief is that throwing money around, politically or by charity, has been tried already. It has done some good but not nearly enough to fundamentally SHIFT the balance of power to peace in the world. Energetic bodies as the human beings are capable of so much more than what we have accomplished so far.
At a conference I attended years ago, the speaker said, “If you have a dream that can be accomplished by you alone, the dream isn't big enough. You should dream so big that you absolutely need many others, in order to accomplish it.”
Well, since you are the first friend to highlight that particular sentence in my profile, you have been privileged/ cursed ;-) with my long explanation of this Big Dream that I have.
The fact that you are in Thailand is exciting to me because that means that you are pretty much halfway around the world from where I am. Somehow, I envision that we can energetically circumnavigate the whole world by equally spreading out East and West and meeting in the middle in both directions.
My apologies for not keeping with your request for a BRIEF practical concept of what I'm striving for! ;-) I do hope that my lengthy email greets you with hope and excitement and if it does, I would love to continue to brainstorm with you how we might work together across the globe.
